Sarah Long Executive Director
Sarah Long (they/them) has served as Executive Director of Arise since June 2023. Their involvement with the organization began as a volunteer advocate, a role they held for approximately six years. Sarah went on to serve as a forensic interviewer and later as a contract advocate before transitioning into the full-time Advocate Coordinator position. During Arise’s transition to independent nonprofit status, Sarah briefly left to pursue a community outreach contract with United Way of Eastern New Mexico. They later returned as a contractor to assist with advocacy efforts under the newly formed Arise SAS 501(c)(3). Sarah was selected as Executive Director following a competitive interview process led by the Interim Executive Director and representatives from the New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs and other statewide partners.
Sarah obtained their Associates of Arts in General Studies in 2015 and their Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2017 from Eastern New Mexico University. They then continued their education to complete a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology, specializing in sex offender behavior, from Walden University in 2018. Sarah is married with two cats and two dogs, tolerates crochet, enjoys building LEGOs, and loves spending time with their niece and nephews.
Megan Manasco Clinical Director SANE
I am the SANE Director at Arise SAS. The SANE Director position is similar to a nurse manager position. I am a forensic nurse and provide sexual Assault examinations to all ages, child abuse exams, domestic violence exams, elder abuse exams, and strangulation exams for patients in 6 counties in Eastern NM. As a forensic nurse, I am also able to provide expert witness testimony during court proceedings.
I started at Arise in July of 2013 as a volunteer advocate while finishing nursing school. When I completed nursing school in 2014, I began the process to become a sexual Assault nurse examiner. I am both SANE-A and SANE-P certified. I have had the opportunity to work with the International Association of Forensic Nurses on three different occasions for projects regarding both sexual Assault and intimate partner violence.
I really love my job and having the opportunity to help the patients we see.
Jessy Kidd Case Manager SANE
Jessy is a SANE nurse and case manager at Arise Sexual Assault Services, where she has worked for seven years. She provides trauma-informed medical care and support to survivors in the community, with a focus on compassionate, survivor-centered care. Outside of work, you can find Jessy at the pool where she coaches swim.
Hope Moyer SANE
I became a registered nurse in July 2008. I started with Arise in 2020 as a volunteer advocate and became a SANE in 2021. I have always been interested in forensic nursing. I am passionate about providing excellent care for all patients, and Arise provides me with this opportunity.
Rae Sapiga PREA Advocate
Rae Sapiga was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She came to Portales, New Mexico in 2018 and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 2022 with her bachelor’s degree in social work, and then again in 2024 with her master’s degree in health and physical education with an emphasis in sports administration. Rae has been with Arise since 2023 as our PREA Advocate, where she serves a specialized population of incarcerated survivors. In addition to providing advocacy services to incarcerated survivors, Rae also hosts empowerment groups for all inmates in Curry, De Baca, and Quay counties. Her empowerment groups help inmates learn vital life skills and essential coping techniques. Rae enjoys working with incarcerated individuals, and her goal is to make sure every inmate knows they have the power to make a change in their lives and know that there is always someone out there who cares about them.
Jayce Victor Outreach and Prevention Advocate
Jayce was born and raised in Portales, New Mexico. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Psychology in 2023 and will have her Master’s of Counseling in May 2026. Jayce provides evidence-based prevention education in the community, as well as performing community outreach to foster connection with Arise’s six service counties.
Jayce is a self-described nerd and science enthusiast. Outside of work, you can catch her with her four cats and many, many, many plants.
